Ermis Michail
Guitar
A vibrant figure in Cyprus' music scene, for more than a decade now he is performing and offering in-depth courses to students of all ages and levels. In 2008 he was accepted at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Jazz Department). He performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2010 as a member of the Rotterdam Big Band. In 2011 he finished his Bachelor degree in Music (Jazz Guitar) with honours. In 2012 Ermis Michail won the 1st prize at “The Nicolas Economou Foundation (NEF) Scholarship Competition”. In 2014 he finished his Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts).Since then he has collaborated with many established musicians such as Gilad Atzmon, Tony Lakatos, Ed Verhoeff and Damian Erksin. During that time he has arranged, composed and performed in various albums with local and international artists. He has performed in all major festivals in Cyprus and performed his original projects in festivals and selected venues around Europe. In 2016 he released his debut album with his original compositions "Minor Change". He has also composed music for various theatre and dance performances performed in established festivals.Since 2013, he has been the guitar lecturer at the University of Nicosia, as well as preparing students for overseas university exams. He has also being giving various music seminars and workshops and is currently performing with his projects at selected venues and festivals all over Cyprus and abroad.

Andreas was born in Limassol in 1977 and began playing music at a very young age. He studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands, where he had the opportunity to perform alongside Annaelis DeJong, Thierry Castel, and Ilja Reijngoud on stages such as the Bim Haus, Dizzy Jazz Club, and Theater De Evenaar, among others. He has collaborated and recorded with notable artists such as Vasilis Papacostantinou and Christoforos Krokidis in Greece, as well as local musicians like Savvas Chouvartas, Vasiliki Anastasiou, Nikolas Mavresis, and Nicole Ardanitou.In 2015, he recorded and published his own music on the CD “Simplicity”, featuring musicians Giorgos Morfitis on piano, Alkis Agathokleous on ney, and Stelios Xydias on drums. Five years later, he released his second album titled “Complexity”, which includes Christos Yerolatsitis on Rhodes piano and Stelios Xydias on drums. This album was recorded at Dogyard Studio by Andreas Rodosthenous.Andreas has performed at various festivals, including the Fusion Festival in Germany, the EUNIC Jazz Festival in Berlin, the Technopolis Jazz Festival in Athens, and music:LX in Luxembourg. He composed music for choreographers Julia Brendle and Evi Panagiotou and has worked on the play “Hamlet” (as composer and improvised musician) in Nicosia, Cyprus, directed by Paris Erotokritou. His most recent collaborations are with the Natalia Rose Quartet, featuring Natalia, a guitarist from Colombia currently residing in Germany, and David Garfield, an arranger for George Benson from the USA.Since 2010, Andreas lives in Cyprus, collaborating with both local and international musicians. He is also a music teacher in the afternoon programs of the music schools under the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture.

I've never taken music lessons before... Where do i start? |

Do I need my own guitar to start? |

It's best to have your own guitar for practicing at home. Before buying, you can try one at our trial lesson. Once you decide to sign up, we'll help you find the perfect first guitar. |
What guitar should I buy? |
---|
You have various options when it comes to choosing a guitar, such as nylon string, acoustic, or electric, depending on your budget and skill level. We can guide you in finding the right guitar once we meet. For students under 8, a ¾ size guitar is recommended. |
Are the lessons conducted in-person or online, and is it possible to combine the two? |
---|
You have the flexibility to choose your preferred option: in-person, online, or a hybrid of both. If you're not always in-town or transportation is not always available, hybrid lessons can be a great choice. All you need is an internet connection and an instrument. |
I'm running late! What should i do? |
---|
Please call us if you are running late. Lesson time will not be extended if tardy. A lesson will be considered a no-show after 15 minutes of no arrival. |
What is your cancellation policy? |
---|
Let us know via phone or email by 7:00 PM the day before your lesson that you need to cancel. Cancellations submitted by this deadline will not incur a cancellation fee and may be rescheduled for a different time. |
What happens if i don't show up for my lesson? |
---|
Last-minute cancellations and missed lessons without notice are forfeited, and all costs are due. Three consecutive missed lessons without notice will result in the termination of lessons. |
What kind of resources do i need for online lessons? |

The minimum requirements for online virtual music lessons are an internet-connected device with a camera (iPhone, Laptop, etc, a reliable internet connection, and the free Zoom or Skype app. Ask your instructor about products we recommend to get the most out of your virtual experience! |
How does billing work for recurring lessons? |

Tuition is billed monthly and is due on or before the first lesson of each month. Payment is in advance of future lessons in a given month. |

Where do i park? |

Free parking spots are available outside the Music Lab building, in front of the Frame-shop and in the northern private parking area. If there's no space, feel free to ask for assistance, and we'll be happy to help. |
When can I sign up for a course? |

If you sign up for a course as a new student, you will receive a free trial lesson as your first lesson. You have the flexibility to sign up at any time of the year, but it is recommended to do so in September. By signing up in September, you can take advantage of greater availability of lesson time slots. This ensures that you have more options to choose from when scheduling your lessons.
